From the director
Though only a 9-minute short film, A CLOSED SYSTEM was made over two years in consultation with climatologists and marine biologists. The film was commissioned by an architecture firm, Zarch Collectives, looking to raise awareness about eco-friendly building design. And yet, while the development of ingenious carbon-reducing technologies is positive, they do not fully address the anxieties of younger generations who will have to live with the persistent impacts of climate change. “A Closed System” is an artistic exploration of what that anxiety might look like.
