HNIFF is a Vancouver festival with a global stage: short films from anywhere in the world, screened online and honoured at an awards night in Vancouver. Selected films get their own page here — poster, synopsis, credits and, during the festival, the film itself.

Narrative, documentary, animation and experimental films are all eligible, at any length up to forty minutes — micro films of five minutes and under included. Films shot in portrait have a home of their own in the Vertical Room. Students and first-time filmmakers are welcome, and are selected every year.
