The Hollywood North International Film Festival is a Vancouver-based festival for short film, founded in 2023 — a global stage for independent filmmakers, screened online and honoured at an awards night in Vancouver.
By the numbers
Across its editions the festival has screened 277 films from 56 countries and presented 13 awards. Every past edition — films, winners, jury and photographs — is kept whole in the archive.

Hollywood North International Film Festival brings global talent to town
Vicki Duong previews the second edition: four weeks of free online screenings from January 11 to February 8, closing with the Grand Award Gala at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and $7,000 in prizes. Films from Canada, Spain, Italy and the United States are singled out ahead of the night — Atrin Saghafi's Unreturned Revs and Ziyu Lou's American Daydream among them — with head judge Dean Redman on the impact films can have on society.
